Green Smoothie

This is my family’s favorite, go-to smoothie. We drink this almost every day to help us stay healthy & easily get in some veggie servings. I normally use all the ingredients listed but if I’m out of something, I just leave it out. If you are just starting up with veggies in your smoothie, try adding spinach first and have that a few times, then add more green veggies in as you like.

*We use a vitamix blender because it is very good at blending everything up. You may use any blender but the high speed ones are best at making the smoothie nice and creamy.

Ingredients:

(I buy all of these organic)

-1-2 kale leaves

-1-2 celery stalks (optional)

-a few slices of cucumber (optional)

-handful baby spinach

-1 tsp spirulina (optional)

-juice from 1/2 lemon

-3 Tbs hulled hemp seeds (optional)

-2-3 ripe bananas

-4-6 medjool dates (pits removed)

-top with as many frozen mango & pineapple chunks as you can fit

-fill 1/2-3/4 way with cool water or coconut water (you could also use orange or apple juice, it will have more sugar that way).

Directions:

-blitz in blender until fully blended and creamy. Add & blend ice cubes in if needed.

(We also put extras in the fridge to have with dinner.)
